About Ms. Kim

Hello there!

My name is Ms. Kim, and I am an Ontario Certified Teacher with 20 years of experience working for a public school board. I have taught Kindergarten through Grade 8 across all subject areas, giving me a deep understanding of the Ontario curriculum and how students learn at every stage.

My specialty is teaching children how to read - building strong foundational reading skills in the primary grades and developing fluency, comprehension, and confidence in older students. I have two young children, ages 4 and 6, who I have taught to read at 18 months. I am confident I can achieve the same results for your children. While reading instruction is my primary area of expertise, I am able to tutor any K-8 subject as needed. In addition to my classroom experience, I have many years of experience teaching both ESL and Special Education. In my Special Education role, I design and deliver direct, structured reading instruction programs tailored to individual learners, with consistently strong results.

I am highly effective at what I do and take a personalized, student-centered approach. I am not a tutoring center - parents can expect individualized, customized instruction, careful attention to each child’s needs, and knowledgeable guidance grounded in extensive experience with Ontario programs, assessments, and expectations. I also offer IEP advocacy services to support families in navigating the special education process.

I am a full-time teacher, as well as a wife and mother of two young children. Because of my busy schedule, I am currently able to accept only three students, allowing me to provide the highest level of care and commitment to each child I work with. My tutoring hours are Monday to Friday from 5PM - 6PM, and Saturday/Sunday hours can be arranged. I look forward to working with your child to unlock their utmost potential.
